Lesson 10
Putting It All Together
These materials, when encountered before Algebra 1, Unit 3, Lesson 10 support success in that lesson.
Lesson Narrative
This is an optional lesson because the associated Algebra 1 lesson is also optional. If you decide to allow your students to do the last lesson in the Algebra 1 S2 unit, then it is strongly encouraged that your students do this lesson.
The mathematical purpose of this lesson is for students to practice skills that are acquired throughout the unit. Previously, students have practiced using two-way tables, scatter plots, linear models, and correlation coefficients to interpret and make predictions about data. This lesson gives students the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned from this unit and prepares students to synthesize the skills to complete the activities in the associated Algebra 1 lesson. Students construct and critique reasoning for arguments (MP3) when they identify and explain errors or how to correct them.
